About Helen Yerex

Meet Helen, a mentor for ANZCAL coaches.
Helen is a Psychosynthesis Counsellor who works with Individuals and Couples in her Private Practice in Auckland. She has a keen interest in helping people reach their potential as well as gaining a greater sense of personal awareness and fulfilment. She explores patterns, behaviours and an individual’s world view to bring about personal growth.
Helen is very warm, understanding and professional. She considers herself privileged to work in the field of supporting people, working within the framework of current psychological theories and models. She believes in a holistic approach to what is happening in terms of a person’s thoughts, emotions and body and how these are interconnected; awareness of these elements gives rise to change.
Helen has a wide understanding of the many difficulties facing people as well as working with a diverse range of clients.
Helen spent 15 years travelling around the world and has lived in England, Russia, Spain, Argentina and Singapore returning to New Zealand in 2004.
As well as attending Professional Supervision she is also part of several collegial groups who share ideas for growth and development.
Helen has an ongoing interest in the following areas:
- Somatic Experiencing, Imago Relationship Therapy, Characterological Growth, Dream work, Working with Trauma, Meditation, Mindfulness, Working within the framework of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, Tihei-wa Mauri Ora, Risk Assessment, Suicide Prevention and Working with Resilience.
- She has a personal meditation practice and is interested in ways as a therapist to practice ‘self-care’.
