Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices. Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood.

- Body scan: How to develop your own script and visualisation exercises for a person to promote body, stress, and relaxation awareness.
- Bucket Model of Resilience: How to use this technique to coach a person into a place of resilience and positive change.
- The Boat Metaphor: Comprehensive step-by-step descriptions to be able to use this tool with people to elicit drivers for change, create meaningful goals, and foster mental well-being in all areas of life.
- Safety Plan: How to identify when someone is experiencing mental distress, what to do if you are worried someone is having suicidal thoughts, who to refer to, and how to complete a safety plan for someone.
By attending this workshop, you will have a better understanding of mental health and how it impacts us and our clients on a daily basis. You will walk away with four straight forward techniques that you can immediately apply to your own life that will build awareness and improve your daily health and that of your clients.

About Your Presenter – Jordan Shearer Grimmett
Jordan is a qualified Life and Career Coach, a NLP practitioner, Adult Education Tutor, a Mental Health Trainer for St John, a trainer for New Zealand Life Coaching School and an ANZCAL Master Trainer running her own coaching practice in Lower Hutt, Wellington.
Experienced and knowledgeable in the mental health sector and a passionate trainer, Jordan looks forward to sharing some simple and effective techniques that you can use to positively impact your life and those around you.
When Jordan is not coaching and transforming lives, she has two young daughters and a fishing-mad husband to run around after. She is also a passionate cook and competed on MasterChef New Zealand in 2014 gaining third place alongside her Mum.
